Attempting the epic menu plan

I'm attempting another epic menu plan, like the one I videoed before we left Hamilton.

As you may know, I've been buying bulk meat on special and freezing vegetables to take advantage of my garden and cheap supermarket prices. However, items have started collecting in the back of my fridge, pantry and freezer, so I figure it's time for a clear-out.

I've spent snippets of time over the last couple of days writing down what ingredients we have and it has filled several pages. Now I'm trying to put all those ingredients together to form a menu. The hardest part is thinking of dinners to make, as I find myself returning to a few favourites over and over.

Here's what I've come up with so far:

Now I think it's time to hit the recipe books for inspiration.

How do you menu plan? I'd love to hear your ideas.

  1. Some of our favourites are chow mien with mince and rice, chicken fried rice, casserole in the slow cooker (usually tomatoes and red wine, or whatever's in the pantry), curry in the slow cooker, roast in the slow cooker, or any meat with potatoes and veges, boring but easy!

  2. You're making me want to get a slow cooker. I had one, but it was a bad design so I gave it away. It would be nice to have that slow cooking smell waft through the kitchen again.
