Homegrown - Garden salad

Isn't this a beautiful picture? Last night's dinner salad picked entirely from my garden.

Ah yes, I'm in my happy place right now.

But can you believe there's only one more week of summer to go? Eek! I should be getting my autumn crops ready, but I've done nothing. Nothing!

  1. That's a great salad! Isn't it nice to know you grew it all yourself?! What are you going to plant for autumn? I'm looking forward to planting brocolli, it always gets eaten by bugs in summer, so I have to wait for cooler weather.

  2. It's so satisfying being able to pick dinner from the garden. This autumn I was thinking of planting more silverbeet, spinach, carrots and beetroot, plus some cabbage and maybe more broccoli. Then over winter I really need to dig lots of manure and things into two of my gardens, which are still mostly clay.

  3. Well done! We suck on the gardening front...but have a savvy FIL who spares us his excess. Lovely

  4. Oh that's lucky! For some reason I'm always more grateful for the things I get given than the things I buy. So lucky you having a father-in-law that shares!
