Clear out the clutter challenge: Donating to Streetworks

I'm linking in with Money Saving Mom's Clear out the Clutter Challenge this week, as Hamilton is running a Streetworks day on April 24 and I want to be able to donate our excess to families in the area who need it more than we do.

Here are my before photos:
Our messy art room, with matress temporarily on the floor.
Another angle showing my craft corner. This needs a good sorting out.
Our coat closet in the art room.

Here are my after photos:
I can now actually walk around the floor in our art room.
The desk is usable again.
Beautiful floor space.
Gift wrapping gear.

If anything our coat cupboard is more cluttered - but I'm just putting it to better use, storing things that L has outgrown but we want to save for baby number two, as well as other gear we don't use often. (Our cat doesn't usually hang out in the closet - he just likes exploring new places, even if they've only been rearranged.) I've also cleared out a bunch of clothes to donate to Streetworks, along with a single bed we don't need.

I really enjoyed this challenge. I'm into the swing of it now and am going to attempt to clear out my bathroom cupboard.

I was able to set aside some spare unopened toiletry and toothpaste samples to donate to Streetworks.

  1. Streetworks is such a great thing to support. I am yet to find something similar up here, anyone know of any Aucklanders doing the same thing...or anyone keen to start something?
